2025 Employment Opportunities

SPRA is hiring lifeguards and member services employees (front desk/snack bar) for the 2025 summer season. If you are 14 years old or older, you are eligible to work at SPRA this summer;  you must be at least 15 years old to become a certified lifeguard.

We will be accepting applications and paperwork in person at SPRA Pool on the following dates:

  • Saturday, April 12, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 3, 2025 (Lend-A-Hand Day)

All employees must bring completed the SPRA Employment Paperwork which includes:

  • Keystone Payroll New Hire form
  • Keystone Payroll Direct Deposit form
  • W-4
  • I-9
    • Provide COPIES of ID documents needed for the I-9 
    • Follow the directions as they are new this year
    • Provide COPY of work permit if under 18 years of age

All employees must also bring:

  • COPIES of clearances (see additional information below)
    • PA Criminal History
    • PA Child Abuse Clearance (Clearances must be renewed every 5 years)
    • Fingerprint-based criminal history through the FBI (If you are a minor and have been a PA resident for 10 consecutive years, FBI fingerprints are not required)
  • Provide COPY of Lifeguard certification (if applicable)

All new employees must complete the list of paperwork and also provide copies of the appropriate ID’s required for the I-9.  Please do not bring your originals because a copy must be kept on file.  Returning employees can complete the I-9 as a ‘rehire’ and we should have copies of ID in your employee files, so no need to bring additional copies. Clearances need to be kept on file for all employees, and they need to be updated every 5 years.  If you are a returning employee, we should have your clearances; if you are a new hire, please complete the clearances and bring copies of these as well.  If you have any questions about paperwork or ID, please email Ty Uhlig, SPRA Pool Manager, directly at poolmanager@spramembers.com.

POSITION DETAILS

This year the SPRA board is hiring for lifeguard positions and front desk/snack bar staff.

Starting salaries:

  • Membership Support Staff:  $8.00 per hour
  • Lifeguard 1st Year $12.25 per hour
  • Lifeguard 2nd Year $12.50 per hour
  • Lifeguard 3rd Year $13.00 per hour
  • Lifeguard 4th Year $13.50 per hour

Additional perks:

  • Employees have the privilege to utilize the pool facilities
  • Lifeguards have the opportunity to earn $15 for each 30 minute private lesson they teach
  • Bonuses available

The lifeguard requirements are:

  • Must be at least 15 years old
  • Working papers are required for anyone 14-17 years old.  Information for SCASD can be found here
  • Current ARC lifeguard certification
  • ARC standard first aid
  • Current ARC or AHA CPR (ABC levels)
  • Complete all paperwork including clearances and working papers

The front desk/snack bar staff requirements are:

  • Must be at least 14 yrs old and possess good communication skills. 
  • Working papers are required for anyone 14-17 years old.  Information for SCASD can be found here.

CLEARANCE INFORMATION

Because employment as SPRA involves working with children, all employees must complete and submit the following:

  • PA Criminal History ($22.00 cost)
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance ($13.00 cost)
  • Fingerprint-based criminal history through the FBI ($23.85 cost) (If you are a minor and have been a PA resident for 10 consecutive years, FBI fingerprints are not required)

The cost of these are the responsibility of the employee. If you completed these last year, you do not need to complete them again. These clearances are valid for five years. This link provides additional information on how to obtain the clearances:
