Whether your swimmer is returning for their 10th season or joining for the first time, we’re excited to have them on the SPRA Dolphins team! Our focus is on fun, friendship, and improving swimming abilities in a positive environment. Swim meets are encouraged but not mandatory.
All swimmer registrations must be completed online by July 1st for their points to count toward team meet totals.
If you can’t make a payment online, please contact the Parent Reps at spraconcessions@gmail.com to arrange payment by personal check.
Monday β Thursday:
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday Evenings:
Swimmers are grouped by age and skill level. Regular attendance is encouraged. Swimmers training with a club team should attend at least one SPRA practice per week.
Coaches ask that swimmers arrive a few minutes early so that they are ready on the pool deck when practice is scheduled to start. Swimmers must be picked up after their assigned workout time. The coaches are not responsible for your child after their scheduled practice is finished, as they are concentrating on the next group of swimmers.
SPRA offers lessons for all levels of swimmers if you feel your swimmer requires additional stroke instruction.
Back by popular demand⦠Starting Sunday, June 15 through Monday, July 28, our Swim Mentor Night Clinics are here to help swimmers develop stronger skills and more confidence in the water!
These clinics are led by our experienced swim mentors and follow a rotating focus throughout the week. Younger swimmers are encouraged to attend β it’s a great opportunity to learn from older team members and build team spirit. πββοΈπββοΈ

SPRA is a member of the Central Pennsylvania Swim League (CPSL), which includes Park Forest, Penns Valley, and Welch. The league organizes the meet schedule, rules, and championship events.
All swimmers must be registered and have paid their fees by June 30th to participate in league meets.
Meet signups will be sent out via email. Swimmers must be signed up by the deadline if they plan to swim.
Each event in a meet will have various heats. Coaches aim to give everyone an opportunity to swim each event during the season to qualify for championships. Swimmers may swim a maximum of 4 events per meet (3 individual and 1 relay OR 2 individual and 2 relays). Coaches determine event assignments based on attendance and swimmer ability.
To be eligible for championships, swimmers must participate in at least 2 regular-season meets. Championship seeding is based on a swimmer’s best time from the season. Swimmers can compete in up to 3 individual events and 1 relay at championships.
All meets begin at 6:00 PM with warm-ups at 5:00 PM unless otherwise noted.
Note: Penns Valley home meets will be hosted at Lewistownβs Rec Park Pool
100 Cherry Street, Lewistown, PA
We plan fun activities throughout the season to build team spirit:
Activities and dates will be posted at the pool and shared via email. Have an idea? Let us know!
Did you know that grabbing a snack at a swim meet helps keep our coaches on deck and our team thriving?
Our Concessions Stand, lovingly known as The Dolphin Pod, isnβt just about snacksβitβs a fundraiser that helps pay for coach salaries and keeps our meets running smoothly.
To make it even easier this year, weβre offering aΒ QR code that links to our swim team account for quick access for donationsβjust scan and go!
Each meet needs 4β5 volunteers. Responsible teens age 14+ can assist (one per meet). We also have a new Lead Concessions role for experienced parents.
π Curious whatβs involved? Check out the attached checklist for a quick guide to help make meet night a success!
One parent is encouraged to attend the parent meeting on May 18 at the SPRA pool. Returning families will review meet logistics; new families can meet the coaches and ask questions.
All families are expected to help during meets:
Please sign up for both halves of meets when possible. Additional help is always appreciated.
*Computer, Referee, and Starter/Announcer all require training.
Practices proceed in light rain at the coaches’ discretion. In case of thunder or lightning, practice will be canceled. For updates, check our Facebook page.
During meets, if a thunderstorm occurs, we must clear the pool and deck promptly. Please wait in your car until we announce whether the meet will resume or be canceled. Do not leave unless instructed, as we aim to continue the meet if possible.
