Membership and Bonds

To become a part of SPRA, you must purchase a bond from either the Science Park Recreation Association or from another member. As a SPRA member, you are a 1/350 owner of the Science Park Recreation Association. With only 350 bonds available, each bond holder and their family has plenty of space for relaxation in and out of the pool. 

Bond holders pay annual dues to maintain active membership. This allows you and your family unlimited access to the pool and grounds throughout the season.

Who can be included on your bond? 

You, your spouse/partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age who still call your home his/her primary residence.

Not sure of your level of commitment? You can pay the annual dues without securing a bond for one season. This gives you and/or your family a season to give us a try (see additional information below).

2025 Pricing:

2 free guest passes added to every account (family, single, and seasonal) when annual dues are paid – Each account will receive two one-time-use guest passes, which means they can be used for two separate guest visits or for two guests on the same day. These passes cannot be used repeatedly throughout the season for the same guest.

• Annual dues: $560
• Single Member dues: $350
• Caregiver fee: $160 (Caregivers must be present with at least one member of the family at all times.)

*An inactive fee of $280 is required for all bondholders who do not pay their annual dues.
*Any bondholder who has not paid their seasonal dues by Saturday, May 17th, will incur a 5% late fee.

Family Seasonal Memberships: A limited number of family seasonal memberships are available to any couple/family who have not previously been SPRA bond holders. A seasonal membership allows you full use of our facilities and activities for the current season, without committing to buying a bond.  If you’d like to use the pool after that first year, you will need to purchase a bond. A Family Seasonal Membership is $495.

Individual/Single Seasonal Membership: We offer a limited number of Individual/Single Seasonal Memberships to people over 18 years of age who are not currently SPRA bond holders.  If you’d like to use the pool after that first year, you will need to purchase a bond. An Individual/Single Seasonal Membership is $325.

To become a seasonal member, set up an account and pay online at SPRAmembers.com. Once you’ve competed this step, email us at bonds@SPRAmembers.com and we will issue you a bond number that you will use to enter the pool.  Seasonal members receive 5 free guest passes. 

2025 Seasonal Family Membership 

• Limited availability – bonds@SPRAmembers.com – $560

2025 Seasonal Single Membership 

• Limited availability – bonds@SPRAmembers.com – $350

Guest passes are available to purchase for $8 each (bulk pricing of 5/$35 or 10/$60 is also available).  Anyone entering the pool is required to pay the guest fee whether they swim or not. SPRA members must be in attendance at the pool with their guests. An individual who is a guest may visit SPRA a total of 10 times during the summer, regardless of who invited them. 

Family guest passes are available for $60/week. This will allow a member’s visiting family, who live more than 50 miles from State College, unlimited use of the pool for 7 days. Family guests must be accompanied by a member of the SPRA host family.

The pool can be rented by members and non-members for special events. Please contact the manager at poolmanager@spramembers.com if you’d like more info on renting the pool.

You can purchase a bond directly from SPRA for $500. We currently have the following bonds for sale: #130, #189, #247, #260, #294. Please contact bonds@SPRAmembers.com if interested.

Alternatively, you can purchase a bond directly from a member trying to sell one. You may do so by contacting a seller from the list below. If you have trouble contacting a seller, email us at bonds@SPRAmembers.com.  These bonds are all in good standing and can be transferred.

Once you have found a seller and agreed on a price, both parties must complete the SPRA Bond Transfer.  Email the completed form to bonds@SPRAmembers.com, and we will complete the transfer.
